You Don't Want to be in the Masses
It's okay if you don't want to be in the center of all the entertainment in the Twin Cities for the Super Bowl! Luckily, if you're in the suburbs, it'll be a little easier to avoid some of the entertainment.
One of the things you may notice, however, may be a bit of extra traffic.
According to the Star Tribune, it's likely that we will see a minimum of 125,000 out of area visitors from the Super Bowl. That's a lot of extra people in the metro! Definitely plan on longer commutes and try to avoid areas that lead directly to downtown or the airport.
Luckily, the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee has developed a "Know Before You Go" website with details about transportation for the airport, Minneapolis, St. Paul, and the Mall of America. These will show the recommended routes that visitors will likely be using. Plan your routes for your day-to-day activities around these suggested routes.
No matter what you choose to do for the Super Bowl, it's going to be a week filled with excitement in the air and lots of new faces. Enjoy the atmosphere and have fun watching or joining in the activities! This is a great experience to have this in our home state!
