2019 Home Decor Trends We’re Loving

It’s hard to believe that we are already a quarter of the way through 2019! With the weather this week, it certainly doesn’t feel like we should be a few weeks into Spring, but instead back in early March…

One of the things that we absolutely love about real estate is that we are exposed to home decor trends! Our interior designers that help our sellers always have the best ideas, and we love to keep up with what’s happening in new constructions or high end homes.

Here are a list of 5 home decor trends we have been loving so far in 2019:

1. Bold Colors & Warm Tones

While we still love our grey tones (really, all neutrals), we have been loving the bold colors that are coming up in recent trends! To more bold choices with wall colors, to dark blue or green kitchen cabinets. This trend can really create a unique feel to your home and make it easy to bring a little color to your life. With the bolder colors, we are seeing warm tones. Try a warm tone for a countertop, or do open shelving with a natural wood color in your kitchen.

2. Wallpaper

Yes, wallpaper is making a comeback! While we weren’t exactly sure about it at first. There are some really great patterns out that can make a great statement wall or create a unique feel to a space. The great thing about modern wallpaper as well is that many options are easier to take off and shouldn’t involve hours of peeling it off.

3. Patterned Backsplashes & Tile

This is another piece that has been popping up! Instead of just doing something simple like a subway tile, we have been seeing patterned tiles & backsplashes. We love the statement these can make in a kitchen or a bathroom and there’s plenty of pretty patterns to choose from.

4. Matte Black

Black may be our favorite color. We can’t help it, it can go with everything! Matte black fixtures in kitchens and bathrooms can be a great touch. Go for a black faucet for a sleek look. We’re also seeing it in cabinet options, and we definitely aren’t mad about it.

5. Eco-Friendly

We love seeing people use sustainable products into the home. Many home owners are considering how big their environmental footprint is. There’s many ways that you can make your home eco-friendly – from high efficiency appliances, Smart Homes, live plant walls, or as simply considering who you are buying your items from and what does the company do for the world. Thoughtful living is something we can always get behind!
